This is not my first self-tanning post and it won’t be my last! Summer is right around the corner and I am obsessed with the self-tanning scene right now. Just a little background: I’m very fair and I burn easily in the sun so I want something natural but easy. I will keep testing out new tanners and adding them to this list periodically.
To start here are the tanners I have tried this year and my very honest opinions on them. Also I was able to get all of these for cheap at Boohoo.com! They were 60% off so I didn’t pay more than $16 for any of them.
Tanologist Vegan Express Tanning Water
My absolute favorite for so many reasons! I got the light version and it’s perfect for anyone nervous to try out self-tanners. It starts off as a glow and you can easily build onto it. You just spray it on, buff it and leave it on for 1-4 hours depending on how dark you want it.
Overall this is by far the easiest and most natural product I have ever used. It’s affordable and the bottle is huge so you will get a lot of uses out of it. You can find this tanning water at Boohoo or Amazon.
Isle of Paradise Drops
Another great choice but more effort than it’s worth! I bought the drops thinking it would be so easy to just add to my lotion, but then used so much lotion. I realized it would have been easier to just buy a tanning lotion. Since its a dropper it was really easy to not get the exact same amount and it showed in certain areas.
Also this is definitely a bit pricier and the bottle is smaller than it looks! What I do recommend for this product is using it on the face. It’s perfect to drop into a moisturizer and get a nice natural glow. You can find these drops on Sephora.
Sunkissed Vegan Tan Mousse
Well this was my own fault… I bought the medium but I am too fair skinned for such a drastic change. So make sure you get the right shade, don’t try to go too quick because it is not natural looking. I would also say this is definitely a product for more experienced self-tanners. It is very noticeable if you do not blend correctly!
This product is very affordable, and washes off easily if you don’t like it (like me)! I personally do not like mousse’s because I find it’s easy to get streaks so use this at your own discretion. You can find this at Boohoo.
St. Tropez Mini Purity Kit
This kit is perfect for finding some new products and also getting a free mit! I’ve heard great things about St. Tropez and I see why. First of all this smells better than any other product I’ve tried. The face mist was so simple and easy to just spray and get a glow! You also don’t have to rinse this off at all.
I will definitely be getting more tanning waters! I found it is by far the easiest one to use and the most natural. It also makes the skin feel so hydrating and glowing. Lastly they are very affordable and you will get a ton of uses out of them. But of course do what you think is best for your skin and get the mini kits (especially of the more expensive brands) to start!
P.S. You definitely do not need to buy the most expensive brands for a good self-tanner! Next I will be trying out some more tanning waters so let me know what you want to see.
