Safe Face Exfoliation Practices

Exfoliation! Everyone loves to exfoliate but it can be very harsh on the skin and if done too much can hurt more than help. As someone with sensitive skin exfoliating has led to many bad skin reactions on my face. But luckily I have found the right products to help, not hurt!

My Face Go To’s

For an exfoliation I use more regularly is Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Salicylic Acid Exfoliant, Gentle Facial Exfoliator. This is a leave on exfoliant and is amazing for sensitive skin! I use in 3-4 times a week and really helps with evening the skin tone. It’s also a liquid so it’s super easy to use and doesn’t need to be washed off. You can find this product on Amazon.

For an exfoliation about two times a week after cleansing I use MyChelle Dermaceuticals Fruit Enzyme Scrub for a light scrub. This has small beads that scrub the skin without being too rough. You can also use as little or as much water with it to get more or less of a scrub. I also get this item on Amazon.

For a deeper scrub without using anything too harsh I go for The Body Shop Vitamin C Glow-Revealing Liquid Peel. It takes off everything that could be left on your face! It’s gross but super satisfying. It makes the skin smooth and refreshed. You can find this product on Amazon.

Just make sure you find something that is not too harsh or aggressive on the skin. Less is better and gentle products are the way to go. Or skip it entirely! There are other ways to get the skin really clean, see what I say about double cleansing, it does wonders!
